The South Amboy Lighthouse (formerly, Lighthouse at Great Beds & The Great Beds Lighthouse South Amboy) was formed in 2020 by concerned citizens to prevent the tear down and demolition of the Great Beds Lighthouse. The objectives of the organization are to restore, preserve and maintain the historic lighthouse listed on the National Historic Register as the great Beds Lighthouse. The organization is dedicated to ongoing preservation of the interior and exterior and preserve it for public use as an educational and historic resource while maintaining its use as an active Aid to Navigation.
